OHIO — A woman and a child were rescued after their vehicle went over an embankment in Harrison Township on Sunday night, according to authorities.
Deputies with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched around 9:13 p.m. to the 5800 block of Frederick Pike following reports of a crash. Officials said callers reported that two people were suspended over a body of running water.
According to investigators, the driver swerved to avoid a head-on collision with another vehicle traveling in a no-passing zone. Authorities said the driver then overcorrected while attempting to return to the roadway, causing the vehicle to leave the road and crash into trees over an embankment along the Stillwater River.
Emergency crews responded and safely removed both the woman and the child from the vehicle.
Officials said neither suffered injuries, but both were transported to area hospitals as a precaution.
The crash remains under investigation.
