OHIO — A 67-year-old Vermilion woman was killed Tuesday evening in a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of US 6 and State Route 61 in Erie County, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred shortly before 6:30 p.m. when a 33-year-old woman driving a 2016 Chevrolet Suburban westbound on US 6 failed to yield while turning left onto SR 61.
The Suburban collided with a 2018 Dodge Journey driven by a 70-year-old man approaching the intersection.
The passenger in the Dodge, identified as Alethea Green, 67, was transported to a nearby hospital, where she later died.
The driver of the Dodge sustained incapacitating injuries, troopers said.
The driver of the Suburban was also injured and taken to a hospital, though the extent of her injuries has not been disclosed.
Officials have not confirmed whether seatbelts were in use by those involved.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the crash.
