
WEST VIRGINIA — Several West Virginia school districts have announced delayed start times for Monday, Feb. 9, due to conditions reported across the state, according to the West Virginia Education Information System.
As of Sunday, the majority of affected counties are operating on two-hour delays, while a smaller number have announced three-hour delays.
Counties with three-hour delays include Boone, Calhoun, Summers, and Wyoming counties.
Counties operating on two-hour delays include Braxton, Clay, Gilmer, Hardy, Harrison, Logan, Marion, Mercer, Nicholas, Ohio, Preston, Roane, Taylor, Wayne, and Wirt counties.
Officials note that only announcements affecting entire counties are reflected in the statewide system. Families are encouraged to check directly with their county school boards or individual schools for additional details or updates.
The information is current as of Sunday afternoon, and additional changes may be announced before classes resume Monday.
