Wanted Tennessee murder suspect arrested by U.S. Marshals

TENNESSEE — A man wanted for first-degree murder in Memphis was arrested Tuesday in northern Mississippi, according to the U.S. Marshals Service.

Antonio McClelland, 52, was taken into custody on April 15 in Southaven, Mississippi, by members of the U.S. Marshals Two Rivers Violent Fugitive Task Force (TRVFTF), with assistance from the Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force.

McClelland was wanted in connection with the March 6 shooting death of Jimmy L. Walker, who was found with gunshot wounds inside his apartment near the 3400 block of N. Trezevant Street in Memphis.

Walker was transported to a local hospital, where he later died. Following an investigation by the Memphis Police Department, a warrant for McClelland’s arrest was issued on March 11.

Authorities located McClelland at a residence on the 2100 block of Holbrook Cove in Southaven. He was found in the backyard and arrested without incident.

McClelland was booked into the Desoto County Detention Facility, where he awaits extradition to Tennessee.

The TRVFTF is a multi-agency unit based in Western Tennessee with offices in Memphis and Jackson. It includes Deputy U.S. Marshals, local sheriff’s deputies, police officers, state correctional agents, and members of the Tennessee Highway Patrol. Since 2021, the task force has arrested more than 3,000 violent offenders and sexual predators.
