LOUISIANA — A man accused in a deadly shooting in Vicksburg has been arrested following a multi-agency chase that crossed state lines into Louisiana, according to authorities.

Investigators said 25-year-old Rashad McCrory is charged in connection with the shooting death of 18-year-old Jaylon Walker. Walker was found dead inside a vehicle on Highway 61 South on Feb. 11.

According to officials, Vicksburg Police Department officers spotted McCrory Tuesday driving a black Dodge Challenger on Clay Street near Interstate 20. Officers, along with Warren County Sheriff’s Office deputies, attempted to stop the vehicle, leading to a pursuit that continued into Louisiana.

Authorities said the vehicle eventually stopped in Delta, Louisiana, where McCrory and two others ran from the car. McCrory later contacted his father and surrendered to law enforcement.

Officials said the two other suspects, including one who was armed, were captured about 30 minutes later with assistance from the Mississippi Highway Patrol, Louisiana State Police and the Madison Parish Sheriff’s Office.

All three suspects are being held in Madison Parish. McCrory is awaiting extradition back to Mississippi on the murder charge.

Authorities noted that two additional suspects connected to the case were previously arrested in Indiana.

The investigation remains ongoing.
