ALABAMA — A Madison man was arrested early Tuesday morning after a traffic stop on I-65 revealed several active warrants, according to Priceville Police.
Officers pulled over a vehicle near mile marker 335 around 1:30 a.m. for multiple moving violations. The driver was identified as 32-year-old Tevin Jerome Bennett of Madison.
During the stop, police discovered Bennett had several active warrants, including one for felony unlawful distribution of a controlled substance with nationwide extradition through the Madison County Sheriff’s Office.
Further investigation revealed Bennett was in possession of a handgun equipped with an extended 31-round magazine.
Bennett was arrested and turned over to Madison County authorities. The handgun was confiscated as officers review Bennett’s criminal history to determine possible violations related to his prohibited status. Additional charges may be filed, police said.
