OHIO — A Campbell man accused of leading a drug trafficking and money laundering operation in the Mahoning Valley is now in custody, according to federal authorities.

U.S. Marshals Service arrested Syncere Bishop, 25, on Tuesday. He is being held without bond at the Mahoning County Justice Center.

A federal grand jury indicted Bishop in December 2025 on more than a dozen charges, including conspiracy to distribute controlled substances, money laundering, and structuring financial transactions. Prosecutors allege Bishop worked with four other men between April 2022 and August 2024 to distribute large quantities of fentanyl, cocaine, and marijuana throughout the Mahoning Valley.

According to the indictment, Bishop and his alleged co-conspirators distributed more than 400 grams of fentanyl and more than five kilograms of cocaine. Bishop also faces additional counts accusing him of distributing fentanyl and cocaine on specific dates in July and August 2024.

Federal prosecutors further allege Bishop laundered drug proceeds by exchanging small-denomination bills for larger ones at a 717 Credit Union branch in an effort to conceal the source of the money. He is also accused of structuring financial transactions by making multiple cash withdrawals just under the $10,000 threshold that requires mandatory federal reporting.

The Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force had previously offered a reward for information leading to Bishop’s arrest.

Bishop is charged alongside Cesar Santiago-Espada, Alijaha Scott, Andrew Thomas, and Bryan Rodriguez-Perez. The case has been assigned to U.S. District Judge Dan Aaron Polster.
