Virginia school closings and delays for Wednesday

0

VIRGINIA — Several school divisions in Southwest Virginia will operate on a two-hour delay Wednesday, February 25, 2026, due to expected weather conditions and concerns about road safety.

Tazewell County Schools announced it will open two hours later than normal on Wednesday. Officials said the delay will allow crews additional time to assess road conditions and ensure the safety of students and staff traveling to school.

Clintwood Schools will also be on a two-hour delay. The same schedule adjustment applies to Jonesville Schools, Norton Schools, and Wise County Schools.

Under a two-hour delay, buses will run approximately two hours later than their usual morning pickup times, and school start times will be pushed back accordingly.

Parents and guardians are encouraged to monitor official school communication channels for any additional updates.

No early dismissals have been announced at this time. School officials say they will continue monitoring weather and road reports and will provide further information if schedules change.
