Victim identified in Saturday Ohio shooting

COLUMBUS — The Columbus Division of Police has identified the victim in a fatal shooting that took place in the University District on Saturday afternoon.

The victim, 51-year-old Paul Allgood, was found suffering from a gunshot wound after police responded to reports of a shooting around 2:40 p.m. in the 1300 block of North High Street.

Medics transported Allgood to The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 4:24 p.m.

Police have not released any details about a suspect or the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

The incident occurred near the Ohio State University campus around the time an Ohio State football game ended, prompting concerns as large groups of fans passed the crime scene.
