SOUTH CAROLINA — A vehicle crashed into the front of R.C. Edwards Middle School in Central, South Carolina, on Monday morning after the driver suffered a medical emergency, officials said.

According to Dr. Darian Byrd with the School District of Pickens County, the crash happened around 8:05 a.m. No students or staff were injured, and the school day is continuing as normal.

The entrance that was damaged will remain closed until repairs are completed. There is no timeline yet for when those repairs will be finished.

First responders arrived quickly, and the situation is under control, Byrd said.
