
GEORGIA — Crews are working to restore electricity after a car crashed into a power pole early Sunday morning, causing a widespread outage, according to city officials.
The city reported the crash just before 3 a.m., saying the vehicle struck power lines and knocked out service in multiple neighborhoods.
Affected areas include Lakemount Substation E0542, Ale Circle, Scenic Drive, Janice Drive, Lakeview Place, Oaktree Drive, Redwine Road, Spanish Trail, Crest Ridge Drive, Carriage House Court, Laurel Ridge Drive, Seven Oaks Lane, Desert Drive, and surrounding streets.
By 8:30 a.m., officials said crews had set the replacement pole and were working to transfer the lines. There was no estimate on when power would be fully restored.
Authorities have not released details on what caused the crash. City officials thanked residents for their patience as restoration efforts continue.
