
NORTH CAROLINA — A portion of Wade Avenue in Raleigh was closed Thursday morning following a single-vehicle crash near Canterbury Road.
According to officers with the Raleigh Police Department, a driver crashed into a utility pole, bringing down power lines in the area. The crash was reported early Thursday morning, with crews arriving on scene around 5 a.m.
Police and utility crews were still working at the scene as of about 6:30 a.m. Power outages caused by the downed lines were reported to be minimal.
Authorities did not provide information on injuries or what led to the crash. It was not immediately known when Wade Avenue would reopen. The incident remains under investigation.
