OHIO — The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office is actively searching for a man wanted by the U.S. Marshals Service following a suspicious person report that triggered a manhunt Tuesday morning in the Sherrodsville area.
Deputies responded just before 11:30 a.m. to Cumberland Road SW, between Cutler Road SW and the Sherrodsville village limits, after receiving a call about a suspicious individual.
The suspect has been identified as 42-year-old Joshua M. Middleton, who is wanted on a federal warrant for weapons possession.
Authorities say he may be armed, though no shots have been fired during the incident.
Middleton is described as 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighing 165 pounds, with blonde hair and blue eyes.
His vehicle has been impounded, and officials believe he is now on foot. It remains unclear if he is still in the immediate area.
The Sheriff’s Office is urging residents to remain vigilant and avoid approaching the suspect.
