U.S. Marshals searching for wanted fugitive in Florida

FLORIDA — The U.S. Marshals Service is asking for the public’s assistance in locating Alphonso Churchwell, Jr., who is wanted in Fort Myers, Florida.

Churchwell faces charges including possession of a firearm, aggravated assault on law enforcement, and a federal probation violation.

According to officials, Churchwell fled from Lee County Sheriff’s deputies in June 2021 after a failed traffic stop. He reportedly crashed his vehicle and fled the scene on foot.

Authorities warn that Churchwell should be considered armed and dangerous.

Churchwell is described as a 5’7” Black male with brown hair and brown eyes. He weighs approximately 170 pounds and was born on November 27, 1976.

He has used aliases including Todd Lee Chrisp, Alfonso Churchwell, and “Little.”

A reward of up to $10,000 is being offered for information leading to his arrest. Anyone with information is urged to contact the U.S. Marshals Service.
