OHIO — U.S. Marshals have joined the search for two parents wanted in connection with the death of their 3-year-old son, authorities announced Tuesday.
Arrest warrants were issued May 9 for 42-year-old Demetres S. Givens and 37-year-old Jamie L. Thompson.
As of Tuesday morning, both remain at large. A reward is being offered for information leading to their arrest.
Canton police say officers responded on May 5 to a home in the 3100 block of Gilbert Circle NE after receiving a report of an unresponsive child.
The boy, identified as Berko Givens, was found in his bed not breathing.
Emergency crews transported him to Cleveland Clinic Mercy Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
Givens and Thompson are each wanted on charges of involuntary manslaughter, a first-degree felony, and endangering children, a second-degree felony.
