NORTH CAROLINA — Federal and local law enforcement agencies are searching for two men who fled the scene of a crash following a multi-county vehicle pursuit Wednesday morning.

According to the U.S. Marshals Service, deputies with the Wake County Sheriff’s Office attempted to stop a vehicle just after 6 a.m. on eastbound Interstate 540 near Falls of Neuse Road in Raleigh. Authorities said the driver failed to stop, prompting a pursuit.

The chase continued into Durham County, where the vehicle traveled along U.S. Route 70. The pursuit ended when the vehicle crashed into a ditch near Sherron Road in Durham.

Officials said the driver and one passenger ran from the crash scene, while a second passenger remained with the vehicle. Deputies from Wake and Durham counties, along with U.S. Marshals, began searching the surrounding area for the two men who fled.

Residents in the area are asked to remain alert and report any suspicious activity to 911. Anyone with information that could assist investigators is urged to contact the Wake County Sheriff’s Office at 919-856-6911.

The incident remains under investigation, and no further details were immediately released.
