U.S. Marshals arrest wanted murder suspect in Ohio

OHIO — A Baltimore murder suspect was arrested in Massillon, Ohio, this morning by members of the U.S. Marshals-led Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force (NOVFTF).

Unique Thorn, 26, was wanted by the Baltimore City Police Department for murder.

Authorities allege that on March 18, 2025, Thorn shot and killed a female victim near the 700 block of East Preston Street in Baltimore.

After the incident, she reportedly fled Maryland and was later tracked to a residence in Massillon.

Late this morning, NOVFTF officers located and arrested Thorn at a home in the 1700 block of Alpha Street NW.

She was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Stark County Jail, where she will await extradition to Baltimore.

“Outstanding collaborative police work from Baltimore, Maryland, to Massillon, Ohio, resulted in the arrest of this fleeing and violent fugitive,” said U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott. “Strong law enforcement partnerships between local police departments and the U.S. Marshals Service contribute to safer communities for the citizens of the United States.”

The Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force is made up of multiple federal, state, and local agencies, including the U.S. Marshals Service, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Ohio State Highway Patrol, and several law enforcement agencies across Stark, Carroll, and Holmes counties.

Authorities encourage anyone with information about fugitives to contact the NOVFTF at 1-866-4WANTED (1-866-492-6833) or submit a web tip.

Tipsters may remain anonymous and could be eligible for a reward.
