OHIO — A U.S. Marshals task force has arrested two suspects accused of robbing and fatally shooting a man outside a Cleveland restaurant in June.
Members of the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force took Dominick Newby, 20, and Jayshawn Collins, 19, into custody in the 1100 block of East 58th Street in Cleveland. Both were wanted in the killing of 34-year-old Patrick Carner of Maple Heights.
Carner was shot on June 17 outside Angie’s Soul Café, located in the 7800 block of Carnegie Avenue. Paramedics transported him to University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries.
U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott said the crime posed an even greater risk because it occurred in broad daylight in front of a busy restaurant. “The community is a safer place with these two violent individuals off the streets and behind bars,” Elliott said.
Both suspects are expected to face charges related to the shooting.
