VIRGINIA — Two crashes on Interstate 64 East are causing significant delays for drivers Friday morning, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT).

A tractor-trailer crash occurred at 8:07 a.m. at Exit 187, near Route 33 West. State police said the truck drove into the median and spilled a large load of rocks. Non-life-threatening injuries were reported.

The right lane and shoulder remain closed, along with Exit 186 to Laburnum Avenue and I-195, as crews work to clear the scene.

A separate crash at Exit 186 involved a motorcycle, but officials reported no injuries.

VDOT warned that extended closures are expected and urged drivers to seek alternative routes. For the latest traffic updates, motorists can call 511 or visit Virginia 511 online.
