FLORIDA — Two students were arrested after police said they uncovered a planned attack against a classmate at Lake Brantley High School, according to the Altamonte Springs Police Department.
Police said they were alerted to a potential threat after receiving reports that a student had expressed a desire to harm another student at the school. Officers responded to Lake Brantley High School and identified two suspects connected to the investigation.
During the response, officers searched one student’s belongings and said they found a knife and a handwritten note outlining the alleged plan. That student was taken into custody without incident. Police later determined a second student was also involved, and that student was also arrested.
According to police, both students are facing multiple charges, including premeditated attempted murder. No injuries were reported.
The school district notified parents about the incident, saying the investigation began after an anonymous tip was submitted through a reporting system. District officials praised the tipster for coming forward, stating that the information may have prevented a serious crime. The message emphasized that student and staff safety remains the district’s top priority and encouraged the community to continue reporting concerning behavior.
The district also noted that the case remains an active and ongoing investigation, and no further details are being released at this time.
