
PENNSYLVANIA — At least two people were injured in a crash that temporarily shut down a busy roadway in Allegheny County on Sunday afternoon, according to officials.
The crash occurred on Route 51, also known as Clairton Boulevard, in Brentwood Borough. Officials with the PennDOT said the roadway was closed in both directions between Greenlee Road and Town Square Way while emergency crews responded to the scene.
Allegheny County dispatchers confirmed that at least two people were transported to a hospital for treatment. The extent of their injuries has not been released.
PennDOT reported that the roadway reopened to traffic at approximately 1:48 p.m. Sunday. Authorities have not said how many vehicles were involved in the crash, and the cause remains under investigation.
