OHIO — Two people were injured Thursday morning after a rollover crash on an icy ramp from Interstate 70 in Huber Heights.
Huber Heights police and medics were dispatched around 5:52 a.m. to the ramp from I-70 westbound to State Route 4 following reports of a crash.
Huber Heights Police Sgt. Josh Fosnight said the ramp was “completely covered in ice” at the time of the crash. The vehicle lost control on the icy surface and overturned.
A man and a woman were inside the vehicle when it crashed. Both were transported to Miami Valley Hospital with what were described as minor injuries.
Less than two hours later, another crash was reported in the same location. Fosnight said no injuries were reported in that incident.
The Ohio Department of Transportation was contacted to treat the roadway due to the icy conditions.
Police urged drivers to use extreme caution when taking the exit, slow down significantly, or consider alternate routes during the morning commute.
The crash remains under investigation.
