OHIO — Troopers from the Marysville Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol responded to a three-vehicle crash Friday afternoon on U.S. Route 33, about a mile west of State Route 347.

The collision occurred around 4 p.m. when a 2018 Chevrolet Express van driven by Cory Walters, 31, of Lakeview, struck the rear of a 2018 GMC pickup truck that had stopped in the westbound lane due to debris in the roadway. The impact pushed the GMC into the back of a 2018 Honda CR-V, which was also stopped.

The pickup’s driver, Paden Lopez, 38, of Wapakoneta, and the Honda’s driver, Amy Price, 40, of Dublin, suffered minor injuries. Both were taken by Tri-Valley EMS to Mary Rutan Hospital for treatment. Walters was not injured.

Authorities cited Walters for failure to maintain assured clear distance ahead and distracted driving. Bellefontaine Fire and EMS assisted at the scene.

Traffic was temporarily backed up as crews cleared the crash site.
