ILLINOIS — Two people were injured, one critically, in a single-vehicle crash early Saturday morning in Decatur, according to local police.
Decatur Police responded to the scene at approximately 12:08 a.m. on July 26 in the area of 821 N. Sunnyside Road.
Initial findings indicate that a white Buick Regal was traveling southbound in the 1000 block of N. Sunnyside Road when the driver lost control of the vehicle near the railroad tracks.
The driver, a 25-year-old Decatur man, and a 19-year-old female passenger, also from Decatur, were both transported to a local hospital by ambulance. The driver was later transferred to a local trauma center with life-threatening injuries. The passenger was treated for minor injuries.
The Fatal Accident Investigation Team is handling the case, and the investigation remains ongoing. No further details have been released at this time.
