FLORIDA — Two Atmore residents were injured in a traffic crash Monday afternoon in Escambia County, Florida, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Troopers said the crash happened around 1:40 p.m. on Dec. 29 on State Road 97 near Nokomis Road. A teenager from Flomaton was driving a truck northbound on State Road 97 when she attempted to turn left and failed to yield to oncoming traffic, authorities said.
As a result, the teen’s truck was struck on the front right side by an SUV traveling southbound on State Road 97, the Florida Highway Patrol reported.
A 67-year-old male passenger from Atmore was airlifted to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The 66-year-old Atmore woman who was driving the SUV sustained minor injuries, according to the release.
No additional information about the crash was released.
