
MARYLAND — Two people were hospitalized after a stabbing early New Year’s Day in Takoma Park, according to the Montgomery County Police Department.
Police said officers were called around 6:30 a.m. to the 900 block of Browning Avenue near the Browning Apartments for a reported stabbing. When officers arrived, they found a man and a woman suffering from stab wounds.
Both victims were transported to a hospital for treatment. Police have not released information about the severity of their injuries or their current conditions.
In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, police said a suspect was taken into custody. Investigators are continuing to work to determine what led up to the stabbing. Officers remained on scene Thursday morning collecting evidence, searching for surveillance video, and interviewing potential witnesses.
The suspect has not been identified, and it was not immediately clear what charges may be filed. The investigation remains ongoing.
