Two people injured following shooting incident in Indiana

INDIANA — Indianapolis police are investigating after two people were shot Monday afternoon on the city’s near northwest side.

Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department responded around 4:30 p.m. Feb. 16 to a report of a person shot in the 2000 block of North Tibbs Avenue, near West 20th Street. When officers arrived, they found a victim suffering from a gunshot wound. Police said that person was in stable condition.

Minutes later, officers were called to another report of a person shot in the 1900 block of North Medford Avenue, near West 19th Street and West Kessler Boulevard North Drive. Police located a second gunshot victim at that scene. That person was also reported to be in stable condition.

An IMPD spokesperson said the two shootings are believed to be connected, though investigators have not released details about a possible suspect or motive.
