
INDIANA — A boy and a man were injured in a shooting Saturday night at a townhome community on the city’s far-east side, according to Cumberland police.
Officers from both the Cumberland Police Department and the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department responded just after 9:40 p.m. to the 400 block of Woodlark Drive.
The incident occurred at the Knoll Ridge Townhomes, located off U.S. 40/East Washington Street, just east of German Church Road and across from a shopping plaza that includes a Meijer store.
At the scene, officers found a boy and an adult man suffering from gunshot wounds.
The boy was reported to be in stable condition, while the man was listed in serious but stable condition. Police have not released the age of the boy or the identities of the victims.
Several individuals were detained at the scene, but authorities have not clarified their connection to the incident. Investigators are still working to determine what led to the shooting.
