Two people injured following shooting incident in Illinois

ILLINOIS — Two people were injured in a shooting early Sunday morning on the Bishop Ford Freeway in Chicago, according to the Illinois State Police.

Authorities said troopers responded just before 1:30 a.m. to northbound Interstate 94 near 115th Street in the Pullman neighborhood.

Officials said two people were injured in the shooting and later self-transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Investigators said traffic was diverted off northbound I-94 at 130th Street while crews responded to the scene. All lanes were reopened around 3:30 a.m.

Police said the circumstances leading up to the shooting are not yet clear.
