
GEORGIA — The Chatham County Police Department is investigating a shooting that left two women injured Tuesday morning.
According to CCPD, the department’s Criminal Investigations Division responded to the 4700 block of Waters Avenue in reference to a shooting.
During interviews, both victims told investigators they had gone to the 5100 block of Garrard Avenue to engage in a physical altercation with another group of females. During the confrontation, two male subjects reportedly produced a firearm and began shooting.
One victim was struck in the arm, and the other was struck in the ear. Both women transported themselves to a hospital, where they were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Police said the two male suspects fled the scene in a vehicle. Detectives have collected video surveillance footage and additional evidence as part of the investigation.
The case remains under investigation.
