Two people injured following plane crash in Georgia

GEORGIA — Two people were injured after a small plane crashed in a DeKalb County neighborhood on Sunday morning, according to local officials.

The DeKalb County Fire Rescue said emergency crews were called to Homeland Drive, a residential street in Doraville, at approximately 9:40 a.m. When crews arrived, they found that a plane had gone down in the neighborhood. Officials said both occupants of the aircraft suffered minor injuries.

Fire officials confirmed that the plane did not strike any homes or other structures on the ground. No injuries were reported among residents in the area.

According to the fire department, the aircraft had departed from Miami and was scheduled to land at DeKalb-Peachtree Airport. The cause of the crash has not yet been determined.

Authorities said the incident remains under investigation.
