PENNSYLVANIA — Two men were injured in a violent altercation involving an axe and a gun Sunday evening in Monroe County, according to state police.

Troopers said they were called to Lentz Lane in Jackson Township just after 6:14 p.m. for a reported shooting. When they arrived, investigators determined the incident involved a fight between two men using both an axe and a firearm.

Authorities said both men suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Their names have not been released.

As of Monday morning, no charges had been filed. However, the Pennsylvania State Police major case team, along with the Monroe County District Attorney’s Office, is investigating the incident as a potential attempted homicide.

The investigation remains ongoing.
