OHIO — A serious two-vehicle collision occurred Saturday evening on Township Road 200, just east of County Road 18, according to the Logan County Sheriff’s Office.
At approximately 7:15 p.m., Carie McCullough, 50, of West Mansfield, was traveling east in a 2000 Toyota Camry when her vehicle was struck head-on by a westbound 1996 Ford minivan.
The minivan was driven by Richard Sparks, 50, of Heath, who reportedly went left of center.
Sparks was uninjured, but McCullough and her teenage passenger suffered serious injuries and were transported to Mary Rutan Hospital.
Authorities noted that McCullough was wearing a seat belt, while the teen was not.
Sparks told deputies he slammed on his brakes when he saw stopped traffic, causing his vehicle to lose control and cross into the eastbound lane. He was cited for a left-of-center violation.
