FLORIDA — Two people were seriously injured Wednesday evening when an SUV and a motorcycle collided at an intersection in Washington County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred around 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 10 at State Road 277 and County Road 276A, also known as Clayton Road. Troopers said a 21-year-old Chipley man was driving an SUV west on Clayton Road while a motorcycle, operated by a 36-year-old Dothan woman, was traveling north on State Road 277.

According to FHP, the SUV began turning left onto State Road 277 just as the motorcycle entered the intersection, resulting in a collision. The impact caused the motorcycle to overturn, throwing both the driver and a 16-year-old passenger from the bike.

The motorcycle continued off the roadway and came to rest on the grass shoulder north of the intersection.

Both the driver and passenger of the motorcycle suffered serious injuries and were transported for medical treatment. The SUV driver was not injured. The crash remains under investigation.
