Two people injured after vehicle strikes tree in Ohio

OHIO — Two people were hospitalized after a serious crash early Wednesday morning in Perrysburg Township.

According to a press release from the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 1:05 a.m. on Bayer Road near Lime City Road.

Authorities say 38-year-old Nusrattilo Artikov, of Toledo, failed to stop at a stop sign, went airborne over railroad tracks, left the roadway, struck a tree, and overturned twice.

Artikov was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. A 20-year-old passenger in the vehicle was also taken to the hospital.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
