MICHIGAN — Two people were injured Thursday morning after a vehicle drove into a Dollar Tree store, according to the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies, along with the Georgetown Township Fire Department and Life EMS, responded around 10:40 a.m. to the Dollar Tree at 7500 Cottonwood Drive following reports of a car crashing into the business.
Investigators said an 84-year-old man from Wyoming, driving a 2024 Ford Explorer, first struck an unoccupied vehicle in the store’s parking lot. While waiting for deputies, the man then drove the Explorer into the front windows of the Dollar Tree, coming to a stop inside the store.
The store was open at the time, and several employees and customers were inside. The driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries, and one customer was hurt by debris from the crash. Both were transported to local hospitals for treatment.
The incident remains under investigation.
