GEORGIA — Two people died in apparent overdoses early Saturday morning at a motel on Victory Drive, according to the Muscogee County Coroner’s Office.
Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan identified the victims as Decanter Simmons and Antoine Santel Burnett. Both were pronounced dead at the Budgetel Motel.
Bryan said the first 911 call was received at approximately 6:30 a.m. reporting a possible overdose. A second overdose was reported shortly afterward. Emergency crews responded to the scene, where two people were pronounced dead. A third individual was transported to a hospital for treatment.
According to Bryan, this was not the first time his office has responded to an overdose call at the Budgetel Motel. The bodies of the two victims will be sent to the state crime lab for further examination.
