Two people found dead inside Tennessee home, investigation underway

TENNESSEE — A man and woman are dead following an apparent murder-suicide that took place Sunday morning at a condominium in Nashville, according to the Metro Nashville Police Department.

Authorities say the incident occurred around 8:30 a.m. inside a condo on 31st Avenue North.

A preliminary investigation indicates that 46-year-old Steven Pierce fatally shot his wife, 30-year-old Amina Pierce, following an argument over divorce and financial matters.

Police said a revolver was recovered from under Steven’s body at the scene. He is believed to have taken his own life after the shooting.

Investigators also noted that the department’s Domestic Violence Division had no prior history of involvement with the couple.

No additional details have been released at this time as the investigation continues.
