VIRGINIA — Two people were found shot to death during a welfare check in Albemarle County’s Covesville area on Wednesday, Sept. 24.
According to the Albemarle County Police Department, officers were called to the 5500 block of Windward Cove Road to check on the residents. When they arrived, they discovered 77-year-old Dennis Miller and 76-year-old Frances Hooper-Miller inside the home with gunshot wounds. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities described the deaths as “suspicious,” though investigators believe the case is an isolated incident.
No further information has been released as the investigation continues.
