SOUTH CAROLINA — A husband and wife were found dead Thursday night in their Oconee County home, and authorities are investigating the case as a double homicide.
According to the Oconee County Coroner’s Office, Oconee 911 Communications received a call around 9:05 p.m. reporting that the couple had been discovered deceased inside their residence on Cromer Moore Drive near Westminster.
Officials said a family member placed the 911 call after repeated attempts to contact the couple were unsuccessful. The family member then went to the home to check on them and made the discovery.
The coroner’s office stated that the deaths fall under the jurisdiction of both the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office and the coroner’s office. Based on preliminary observations at the scene and an initial investigation, authorities are treating the deaths as homicides.
The victims were identified as Larry Moore, 76, and his wife, Sandra Moore, 75. No additional information regarding the circumstances surrounding their deaths has been released at this time.
The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities have not announced any suspects or arrests.
