OHIO — Two people were found dead inside a Liberty Township home Wednesday afternoon in what authorities are investigating as an apparent murder-suicide, according to the Butler County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies were called to the 4400 block of Hidden Oaks Lane around 2:51 p.m. to conduct a welfare check after a caller reported not hearing from his in-laws for several days.
When deputies entered the home, they found a 72-year-old woman and a 70-year-old man dead from apparent gunshot wounds inside the living room.
Authorities also discovered a dog inside the home that had died.
The Butler County Sheriff’s Office said the case is being investigated as an apparent murder-suicide. Officials have not released the identities of those involved.
The investigation remains ongoing.
