INDIANA — Two juveniles were killed and two others were seriously injured Friday morning when a pickup truck crashed into a horse-drawn cart in Elkhart County, according to authorities.
Police said the crash happened around 8 a.m. on State Road 4, just west of County Road 37. Investigators said a pickup truck traveling westbound struck the rear of a horse-drawn cart that was also heading west. The cart was carrying four juvenile passengers at the time of the collision.
Two of the juveniles died at the scene. Their names and ages have not yet been released.
The other two juveniles were transported to a hospital with serious injuries.
Authorities said the driver of the pickup truck remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. No arrests have been made.
The Elkhart County Crash Investigation Team is leading the investigation.
