Two people dead, seven injured following ATV crash in Georgia

GEORGIA — Two adults were killed and seven children injured Saturday in a crash at Indian Mountain ATV Park near the Alabama-Georgia border, authorities said.

The Cherokee County Coroner’s Office reported that an ATV carrying the two adults and seven children was traveling at a high rate of speed when it collided with a second ATV. The vehicle traveled approximately 150 feet, rolled over, and struck a tree.

A man was pronounced dead at the scene, while an adult female passenger was airlifted to a hospital, where she later died. Both victims were from Rome, Georgia.

Four of the children were airlifted to hospitals, and the remaining three were transported by ground. No injuries were reported among passengers of the second ATV.

The victims’ identities have not been released. A GoFundMe has been set up to support the family.
