VIRGINIA — Two people were killed Wednesday evening when their vehicle plunged down an embankment and caught fire in Giles County, according to the Virginia State Police.
Troopers responded to the crash around 5:00 p.m. on July 30 in the 1200 block of Walkers Creek Road.
Upon arrival, they discovered a 2016 Ford Taurus approximately 30 feet down an embankment, fully engulfed in flames.
After extinguishing the fire, investigators found a man and a woman deceased inside the vehicle. Their identities have not yet been released.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
