TEXAS — Two drivers were killed and another person was injured in a head-on crash Tuesday in Montgomery County, Texas, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

The crash occurred on FM 1484 just south of Airport Road and involved three pickup trucks.

Investigators said a Ford F-150 Platinum was traveling southbound on FM 1484 when, for reasons that remain under investigation, the vehicle crossed into the northbound lanes. The truck then collided head-on with a northbound black Ford F-150.

Authorities said a third vehicle, a Chevrolet pickup that was also traveling northbound, then struck one of the trucks involved in the initial collision.

The drivers of both Ford trucks were pronounced dead at the scene. Their identities have not been released as officials work to notify their next of kin.

A passenger in the northbound Ford F-150 was transported to a hospital with injuries. Officials have not released information about the person’s condition.

The driver of the Chevrolet pickup was not injured and is cooperating with investigators.

The Texas Department of Public Safety said the crash remains under investigation as reconstruction teams work to determine what caused the collision.
