SOUTH CAROLINA — Two people were killed and one person was injured Saturday night in a wrong-way crash on Interstate 20, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred just before 9 p.m. in the eastbound lanes near mile marker 86.
Lance Corporal Brittany Glover said a 2006 Toyota Avalon was traveling east when it was struck by a 2022 Kia K5 heading west in the wrong direction.
Both occupants of the Toyota were transported to a nearby hospital, where one later died. The driver of the Kia, who was the vehicle’s only occupant, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Kershaw County Coroner’s Office has not yet released the names of the victims.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the crash.
