PENNSYLVANIA — Two people were killed in a head-on collision Saturday night in Carroll Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police in Newport.
The crash occurred on State Route 34 near the intersection with Landisburg Road when a truck crossed into oncoming traffic and struck an SUV head-on.
One person inside the SUV was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the truck, identified as William Richey Jr. of Shermans Dale, was taken to Penn State Hershey Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries.
State Route 34 was closed between Landisburg Road and Windy Hill Road for approximately four hours as authorities investigated the crash.
