PENNSYLVANIA — Two people were killed and another injured in a single-vehicle crash early Saturday morning on the Pennsylvania Turnpike in Lancaster County.
According to Pennsylvania State Police Troop T, the crash occurred around 7 a.m. near Mile Marker 286.5 on the eastbound side of the turnpike in Brecknock Township.
Authorities said the vehicle veered off the road near the Reading Interchange, struck a tree, and then hit a bridge.
The driver and a backseat passenger were pronounced dead at the scene. A front seat passenger was injured and taken to Reading Hospital for treatment.
Despite the crash, the Pennsylvania Turnpike remained open as the incident happened off the roadway.
