
OHIO — Two people are dead and a third is injured after a car crashed into a utility pole and caught fire late Tuesday night on the far north side of Columbus.
According to Columbus police, the crash occurred at 10:49 p.m. near 8422 Sawmill Road, just north of Sawmill Reserve Drive.
The car, driven by an adult, was heading south with a juvenile in the front passenger seat and another in the back seat when the driver lost control.
The vehicle spun across the road and struck a utility pole, igniting in flames.
The driver and front-seat passenger were pronounced dead at the scene. The juvenile in the back seat was transported to Nationwide Children’s Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and is reported to be in stable condition.
Police have not yet determined the cause of the crash.
The investigation is ongoing.
