
OHIO — The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash that occurred Thursday evening, Dec. 26, in the Village of Waverly.
According to authorities, the crash happened at approximately 7:04 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. 23 and North Market Street. Troopers said a 2011 Ford Fusion driven by Davina Arthur, 46, of Friendship, Ohio, was traveling southbound on U.S. 23 and was involved in a pursuit with the Chillicothe Police Department at the time of the incident.
Investigators reported that Arthur ran a red light at the intersection and collided with a 2025 Ford Escape driven by William Gildow, 63, of Waverly, who was traveling westbound on North Market Street.
Both Arthur and Gildow were pronounced dead as a result of the crash. A passenger in Arthur’s vehicle, Homer Bailey III, 66, of West Portsmouth, Ohio, sustained injuries and was transported to Grant Hospital for treatment.
The crash remains under investigation, and no additional details were released as of Friday.
